-NASA Explorer Schools - Sustaining Partnership

A special project with our Advancing Science program, the UNH Space Grant Consortia and the New Hampshire Mathematics, Science, and Technology Coalition to expand NASA Explorer Schools efforts in New Hampshire by informing practice statewide.

-Worm Watch Project

Funded by the UNH Vice President's Fund for Outreach Scholarship is a pilot program with 9 high schools developing student research protocols with nematode biodiversity and functional genomic studies involving C. elegans.

Ongoing Programs:

-Advancing Science Program

For training and use of current scientific methods and instruments. This is a resource sharing program for high schools in New Hampshire and southern Maine.

-Research-based Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Resource Center

At the UNH Dimond Library, 2nd floor west for K-12 Mathematics and Science. Elementary science kits are located in Advancing Science's Operations Room 149 Parsons Hall.

Past Projects:

-Surveys of the Enacted Curriculum

Is a project sponsored by the NH Mathematics, Science, and Technology Coalition and funded by the NH Dept. of Education provides district access to the use of the surveys for mathematics until August, 2005.

-Middle School Mathematics Partnership

Funded by the NH Dept. Of Education's Mathematics and Science Partnership [MSP] This project is currently funded through the UNH Mathematics Department (contact Dr. Sonia Hristovich for more details).

-UNH IMPACT Center

2000-2004 project funded by NSF through CESAME at Northeastern University for the awareness and implementation support of NSF research-based curricular programs. The Leitzel Center has continued the support work with NH and southern Maine school districts and is currently working with 6 districts for onsite coaching and training of teachers.
